Route Description
Going along Via Maqueda, we will reach the Martorana, a Greek-Orthodox church, and in Corso Vittorio Emanuele we will visit the Norman Cathedral. Cutting across Villa Bonanno we will enjoy the Arab domes of San Giovanni degli Eremiti. The first part of the day will end with the visit of the Palatine Chapel, the most interesting part of The Norman Palace, with the royal throne and byzantine mosaics. Break for free lunch. Transfer to Monreale by bus, ” the town of the king”, famous for the Norman cathedral that houses the greatest Byzantine first- quality gold mosaics in the world.
